Barrel Plating is widely employed for bulk processing of small to medium sized components. The finishing process consists of components being placed in an apparatus called the Barrel. The barrel then passes through different chemical baths to complete the surface finishing process. These barrels consist of an electrical contact called the dangler which helps in passing DC current.
The selection of articles for barrel plating is limited by their size, shape, and weight. The Barrels are usually constructed using a non-conductive material. The barrel body has perforations which helps to attain a uniform finish of components.
